Glenoaks Stables offers quality instruction to both youths and adults. Our program teaches students to understand a horse’s natural movement and how we can influence this movement as riders. A solid foundation starts with focusing on gaining control and understanding of one’s own body movements and biomechanics so that the rider can effectively influence the horse’s natural movement.

Our riding philosophy is based upon a deep respect for horses as a living being and how we can improve their lives through good horsemanship. As part of our program, students learn the importance of careful grooming and basic horse health care, how to properly maintain tack and other equipment used for riding, as well as understanding the basic stabling requirements necessary to maintain a healthy horse.

Many students who start out in our Riding School move on to become successful horse owners. We offer the opportunity to buy your own horse and to even compete on the show circuit through our Training Business, known as, Isola Stables

Group Lessons are $65.00 per student, per lesson for a full hour of instruction. Private lessons are $100 per hour or $65 for half hour. For the more serious rider, our school horses are available for lease to maximize your learning potential. The Riding School is open Tuesday through Sundays.

Mommy (Daddy) and Me Riding Lessons Mommy and me classes are set up as an introduction to riding for children ages 3-5. During these classes, children and their parents bond over grooming and handling ponies. The child progresses at their own pace and will begin riding when the comfort level of both the parent and child allow.

Birthday Parties:

Glenoaks reserves time on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00-3:00pm for birthday parties!!! Parties are a 2 hour activity providing a stable tour, demonstrations about horse care, grooming and more,as well as a short riding lesson. Birthday cake and snacks can then be enjoyed in our social room. Max 15 kids per party, $375-$500 will cover set up, party and clean up by Glenoaks staff.

Schooling Shows

Schooling shows are a fun activity that enables students to experience the thrill of competitive riding in the relaxation of the "home" stable atmosphere. For those students wanting to taste real competition, our leasing program enables them to attend off-site Horseshows.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the off-site schooling show on March 21. Lots of blue ribbons and a good time had by all. We look forward to attending more off-site schooling shows for the 2010 season .

At Glenoaks Stables we realize that not every horseman wants to be a competitor and that there are a wide variety of horse activites from which to choose from to derive immense pleasure. We are interested in helping you enjoy the horsesports of your choice. Working Students: Our Working Student program enables special individuals to gain in depth knowledge of horse care and handling while providing valuable assistance with the numerous chores in the day to day operations of the stables.
