SUMMER CAMPS
Glenoaks Equestrian Center has run a very popular summer riding camp for the past 10 years. Again this summer we are pleased to offer camps to students at all levels. Camps run from 8:30-2:00 Monday to Friday at the cost of $550. During each day students will have continuous supervision by our experienced professional coaches. Students are divided into groups of approximately five children and matched to age and experience. The groups will have a chance to participate in the following:
1. Riding: this includes instruction appropriate for the student's level as well as pony games
2. Basic Horsemanship training: Students will be taught how to properly groom a horse, how to properly lead a horse, how to saddle and bridle, they will learn body parts. colors and markings, basic health care and feeding, basic shoeing and hoof care
3. Vaulting: students will have an opportunity to work on balance and coordination by learning a variety of excercises while the horse is on a lunge line. This enables them to further develop a solid seat as well as build confidence and comfort with horses
4. Arts and crafts and other activities such as observing the farrier or veterinarian.
The minimum age for camp is 6 years.

"Summer Camp 2010 is off to a fantastic start. We've just completed our June sessions and are
gearing up for July. Counselor graduates from our 2009 Stable Management program have demonstrated
a keen understanding of their training, helping camp to run smoothly and with lots of laughs. I am so proud of all of them!
We are so pleased with all the positive feedback: ""this is the best camp ever"", ""can we do sleepaway camp here?"",
""you have exceptional school horses"" and on and on. We are always striving to meet our students
needs and are always taking their ideas and input and putting them into action. The success of our
camp means we are doing our job and will continue to provide this quality service to young
equestrians on the peninsula" Rhonda Weiss-Riding School Coordinator
